How
My Passion for Drag Racing Began
A friend had suggested that we go to the
2008 Nationals to watch the top fuel cars at Firebird Raceway.
I have seen the drags once before in 2005, but I was unable
to enjoy them due to a painful impacted wisdom tooth.
I have been an Internet Marketer for over 2 years and I use
videos to promote my business on Youtube so I thought it would
be great to get videos of those 300mph cars. I filmed many
dragsters and funny cars that attempted to qualify. I was
not familiar with many of the racers, but my friend knew many
since he's been a longtime drag racing fan and he raced in
the 70's. My friend said John Force is the most recognized
and accomplished driver.

John Force - My Favorite Photo

I was able to get footage of
John
Force racing his daughter Ashley (Click on "HQ"
below the video to watch in High Quality). I was also fortunate
to get John's autograph. I really didn’t know much about
John Force except that he was well known and adored by many drag
racing fans.
I wanted to see more
racing so I went the Nationals at Las Vegas in April 2008. I really
enjoyed it since I was able to camp at the event, which was very
convenient. An entire weekend of racing is something everyone
should experience.
My
First Experience Drag Racing
I am used to 100mph+ boats and sandrails so I decided to give
my INFINITI G37 a run at Firebird's "Run
What You Brung Night". After a few nights of getting
used to the light and doing 14.2 @102mph, I wanted to go faster.
I now own a 265" Spitzer
Dragster with a Big Block Chevy 540 Cubic Inch engine
@ 850hp. My fastest pass as of now is 8.30 @ 160mph.
Watch
some of my passes. The dragster is much different
than my INFINITI and there is more to think about. It's not just
gas and go. I recently experienced tire spin and the dragster
veered towards the center very quickly. I am learning to feel
the car more in anticipation of tire spin.
I make my passes at Speedworld in Surprise, AZ. As I feel more
comfortable in the car and get consistent with my reaction times,
I should be competing by the years end.

My
Future in Drag Racing
I plan on starting with local bracket racing to get my feet wet
and then step up to a Top Dragster Class when I acquire an engine
capable of 6 second passes. My Hero
card.
Check back at my website which will be updated as I
progress. We are currently working the bugs out of the car to make
it consistent.
